Bio- char Production : A Sustainable Soil Enhancer
Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced by heating organic biomass, such as wood or agricultural waste, in a low-oxygen environment. It enhances soil fertility, retains water, and sequesters carbon, making it a sustainable solution for agriculture. Biochar also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves soil health.
Project Brief
Bio- char production: Kon- Tiki bio char kiln design by Itahaka Institute, there is process of pyrolysis by which in absence of oxygen we burn the wood ( which comes from invasive species in India)
Benefits of Bio-char
A. Reduce soil degradation
B. Increase soil health
C. Make operational cost more efficient by reducing irrigation and chemicals applications to field.
